TThe Embassy of Japan in the Independent State of Samoa calls for applications by Samoan nationals who wish to study at Japanese universities from late 2021 to early 2023 under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program for Teacher Training Students for 2021. Application guidelines and forms are available at the URL below. These hardcopies can be provided by the Embassy of Japan on request.
Applicants, in principle, must be born on or after 2 April 1986, be graduates of universities or teacher training schools and have worked as teachers at primary/secondary educational institutions or teacher training schools (excluding universities) in Samoa for a total period of 5 years or more as of 1 October 2021.
Applicants must assure that they return to Samoa by the end of the final month of the scholarship period and resume their work as teachers at their primary/secondary institutions or teach training schools.
Application documents that complete requirements should be submitted by 5:15 pm on Friday 12 February 2021 to the Office of the Embassy of Japan (Level 2, B-Building, SNPF Plaza, Savalalo, Apia).
Screened applicants can proceed to written examinations and interviews to be held respectively in late February and early March 2021. Detailed information on the written examinations and interviews will be provided to the screened applicants.
