The Australia Pacific Security College (School) in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (College) may offere up to four awards known as the Australia Pacific Security College PhD Scholarship (Award).

Eligibility:The Award will be available each year to prospective international students who:

a) are a citizen of a Forum Island Country (excluding Australia and New Zealand); and

b) are enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy based at the ANU, in a field relevant to the 2018 Boe Declaration on Regional Security and one or more of the expanded security issues: climate, environment, human and traditional (cybersecurity, transnational crime); or, the critical evaluation of policy and program initiatives to advance national and/or regional security, such as the development of national security strategies or national climate mitigation and adaptation plans.

Applications shall be called for with a closing date as set by the School. The closing date, and application instructions will be advertised on the University scholarship webpage.

Selection:Selection will be made on the basis of:a) academic merit and research potential, based on their academic record, referee reports and other evidence; and

b) effective use of funds;

c) demonstrated intention to meet the Objectives;

d) discipline research interests.
