The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Samoa, Her Excellency Ms Jane Connolly paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Public Service Commission, and met with PSC Chairman Afioga Nonu Lemauga Saleimoa Vaai, Commissioner Fonoti Perelini, Acting Secretary Osana Liki-Ward, and Assistant Secretary HRD Sarona Esera Filipo.
Her Excellency, who is accredited to Samoa with residence in Wellington, New Zealand, discussed opportunities for mutual cooperation between the Government of Ireland and the Samoa PSC, including scholarship and training development programs in line with the revised human resource development priority list, as well as exchange initiatives for senior executives. The PSC shared with Ms. Connolly ongoing priorities for the Commission, including the Talofa with a Smile Campaign to strengthen service delivery and the quality of customer service in government, the development of the National Workforce Plan, improving performance management, and PSC’s role in supporting the government preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2024.
Her Excellency reiterated her thanks to the Chairman, Commissioner, and the PSC for the warm welcome extended to her during her brief visit, particularly with the increased visibility of the Talofa with a Smile initiative across the Office
